Tuzla English Language Teaching Seminar – TELTS was organised for the sixth year in Tuzla, attracting more than 80 participants from more than 30 cities in Bosnia and Herzegovina, as well as the region. The three-day seminar was held from June 14 – 16 at Behram-begova medresa in Tuzla, in cooperation with the Pedagogical Institute of Tuzla Canton, U.S. Embassy in Sarajevo, Tuzla Muftiate, Ministry of Education, Science, Culture and Sports of Tuzla Canton, and TETA – Tuzla English Teachers’ Association.
TELTS was officially opened on June 14 by the officials from the Pedagogical Institute, Muftiate, U.S. Embassy, Ministry of Education, Science, Culture and Sports of Tuzla Canton, Faculty of Philosophy in Tuzla and RELO – Regional English Language Office in Budapest. Participants had the opportunity to learn valuable teaching methods and practices from Maggie Sokolik, professor at the University of California, Berkeley, USA, as well as three English Language Fellows in the region: Nathan Meyer in Belgrade, Kate Mulvey in Priština, and Jena Engelking in Banja Luka.
Since TETA and TELTS work closely together (TELTS ties in right after our conference, making it easier for our colleagues from outside of the canton to attend), we are pleased to hear another wave of positive feedback from the seminar, and we look forward to our collaboration in the future. Congratulations to our colleague Asmir Dorić, TELTS coordinator, for organising another successful edition of TELTS!
