TETA At the 22nd IATEFL Conference in Slovenia!

iateflThis year, the 22nd International IATEFL Conference in Slovenia is deemed by many participants to be one of the best and coziest conferences for English language teachers, not only due to the venue, which is, by tradition, at Terme Topolšica, but also due to the participants that bring high spirits from different parts of the world. The Conference lasted for 3 days, from 5th to 8th March 2015. The very title of the conference Adopt, Adapt, Improve suggests how much we were able to learn from each other as ELT professionals. There were six great plenary speakers but this year, for the first time, it was a Slovene professor, Mojca Belak, who opened the Conference and who talked about the power and responsibility of teachers. There were more than 50 workshops on different topics. One of the main ( do I dare to say?!) reasons why this Conference was so joyous, of course, is the participation of eight English language teachers from our country, Bosnia and Herzegovina. Namely, eight of our ELTs held different workshops and presentations targeted at different age groups. Very important part of the conference was the start-up of an international project, in which the following countries will participate: Slovenia, Croatia, Macedonia, Serbia, Montenegro , Albania and Bosnia and Herzegovina. The project is supported by Regional English Language Office (RELO) and the representatives of our country are ELTs Ramajana Zahirović and Elvira Hodžić. What is even more important for our network of ELTs is that a lot of the teachers who participated in the Conference will participate in our TETA’s Conference in June, and this perfectly fits into the title of our Conference: Creating a Real-World Connection!
We would like to extend our deepest gratitude to our hosts in Slovenia, with the words: “See you soon, dear colleagues!”
